Luis Tinoco (b. 1969, Lisbon) made his First Degree in composition at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa. He was then awarded with scholarships by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Centro Nacional de Cultura to complete a Masters degree in Composition at the Royal Academy of Music, in London. Presently, he's doing a PhD Music research at the University of York, with Prof. Nicola LeFanu.

Grup Instrumental de València plays "O Silêncio e as Pedras"

Also on the 7th of March | 5.00 p.m., at the Centro Cultural de Belém, the Grup Instrumental de València, conducted by Joan Cerveró, will introduce "Via Latina" - a recital focused on new works written by contemporary Iberian composers. This recital includes O Silêncio e as Pedras, for flute, bass clarinet, piano, violin, violoncello and electronics, composed by Luís Tinoco in 2008, and dedicated to the Sond'Ar-te Electric Ensemble.
