(…) Ends Meet for marimba and string quartet, was notable for its delicate, minimalist textures and controlled energy, and almost Schoenberg-like melodic lines. Jane Dawson, The Dominion, Wellington, New Zealand

(…) I rather liked the whispered intensities of Ends Meet for string Quartet and marimba. The composer wanted the idea of circles of material creating continuous flowing, so that one got the impression of encountering the music already in motion rather than listening to a beginning. A lot of the music was sotto voce, punctuated by occasional sforzandi and swells of volume which die away as quickly. Passages of great scampering barely-contained excitement, alternating with eerie, step-wise progressions, the often skeletal sonorities of the string quartet offset by the other-worldly resonance of the marimba. The players, conducted by Hamish McKeich, realised the peculiar, withdrawn beauties of the music brilliantly (incidentally, a world premiere performance). Peter Mechen, Mechen’s New Zealand Music Page, New Zealand

(…) Ouviu-se ainda Ends Meet (de 2002), de Luís Tinoco, uma obra "sem princípio" (como se já tivesse começado antes de começar), comunicativa, com um ritmo intenso e uma frescura irresistível. Pedro Boléo – O Público
